I have been wanting to carve a tiki for ages. Recently I purchased a chainsaw, and after seeing TikiRiki's recent post got started.

First off I cut the face out with the chainsaw and then I wanted a bit more detail so used a dremel.

Here is the progress so far.

That is just so cute. How tall is it ? You Taswegians are a talented lot. Are you going to paint in all the tribal colours or just stain it ? It looks exactly something I would pounce on at a market or secondhand sale.

Nice work Sol, the flat bit on the top looks like a perfect place to put a PALM in pot (I'm trying to help you out here buddy, we gotta legitimise this thread).

Seriously though - you can make me one after Troy's - I'll give you a rare Queen Palm in exchange :mrlooney:

Cheers,

Nice work! I think I found your model :D You'll need to seal it some with spar varnish.

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.
