Yes but not by me lol It’s still young enough to have its seed still though. I do have some germinating right now though

Emerging leaf on a Ferox

I removed the old leaves when the new leaves started flushing on this Lehmanii as they were 3 seasons old and a bit shabby. Plant had coned 3 seasons in a row and only put flushes on puppies which I removed this past winter. More puppies already showing again can be seen on the caudex.

Thanks @happypalms its about 23 years old grown from a seedling. While I'm at it, just curious if yours suck all the energy out of their leaves before coning. This is the 3rd time this has coned and it has done it every time.

While I'm the subject of this plant can anybody identify the fern that decided to spontaneously colonize the caudex. It has got to a Revoluta next to it but hasn't caught on to the Cumminis in front yet. It doesn't appear to have slowed down the Peroffkyana but curious if I should stop the progression.

No I don’t have the problem of yellowing when they cone. Could be that your plant needs is a long way from and lacking the nutrients required when in cone. I have one advantage and that is there native to area so rather spoilt in that they are virtually growing wild on my doorstep so to speak. That fern does look like an Australian native?

You might be right, I have left it to its own devices as it seems to do well left alone but could probably do with a bit more feeding.

The fun of seeds, Zamia inermis, Z. pygmae, Z. furfuracea and Z. integrifolia (south Florida)

Another peroffskyana in cone, that’s the third one in cone this season in the garden, hopefully I should get about 300 seeds again!

These mid winter flushes are so slow on Encephalartos genus.   Rain and wind next week could wreak havoc on soft leaflets mid flush. Encephalartos laurentianus in my case.

I feel like Whitelock, laurentianus, munch all do this mid/late winter flush and get destroyed by weather then put out another flush mid to late summer. Hopefully not the cause but we will see!!! 

It’s still coming along! Dyerianus about to start shedding seeds as well with a torta of a tri swelling up! 

It’s interesting how some Zamia flushes start off pretty small and unimpressive but later open up into spectacular new leafs.
