I have many different Archontophoenix and many have flowered but only one has set seed. The palm came from HD so I'm not sure which Archontophoenix it is but I'm guessing Archontophoenix alexandrae. So it's it first set of seeds, are they easy to germinate & do you think they are viable.

Has anyone tried germinating seeds using water crystals, they might be a nice sterile medium to use.

I have tried using Stay Moist or similar crystals and they are very effective for some palms) but for some reason not as great (for me) with palm seeds that need a long time to germinate. I couldn't give you any logical rationale, redant, but for Archontophoenix...absolutely!

I'd say they are very easy to germinate. Just throw the in a pot of soil, keep them wet, and wait a few months and you'll have king palms coming out your ears.
