Hello Palmtalk members,

I was contacted by EPS member Mike Horwitz who lives in the UK. He will be visiting the Ft. Pierce area of Florida at Easter and would like to know where he can go to find cold-hardy palm seedlings. I know many members here live in or are familiar with central and north Florida. I suggested to Mike that he consider a long day trip up into north Florida to find palms if he knew exactly where to go.

I am quoting his request to me that includes his e-mail. Please be helpful and contact him with suggestions and info about palm sources so his visit to FL is fruitful and memorable. Thanks to all.

TO ALL FLORIDA PALMTALK MEMBERS:

I was wondering if you could help me. I am going to be in Florida over Easter visiting my Family in Ft Pierce. I was wondering if you know of any source of hardy palm seedlings in the area. I have been been in touch with some people in the Central Fla Palm Society and they have given me some clues, but they don't seem to have a lot of hardy palms suitable for UK. I guess not surprising in Fla.

I am originally from Florida (Miami), moved to England more years ago then I care to remember for work, then married had kids and stayed. But I like to produce in my back yard as much of the "tropical" as possible.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Mike....

I think there's a contributor to the Hardy Palm Board at http://members3.boardhost.com/HardyPalm/ that lives there. Could be good to post the query there.
