Featured Replies

Hi all...So I took your advice from last weeks post I made and bought 8 lbs of Potash for a possible K deficiency on my Royal (see last weeks Royal post by me for pics)...I put 4lbs of it last week around the roots, worked it in and watered well..Should I go ahead and put the other 4lbs this weekend?..or wait?..It trying to get this think good before the dormant season...how often would you all recommend me to use the potash on the royal for such a k deficiency?

thx

Lance,

You won't see any improvement on any of the existing leaves. The new fronds, however, should show improvement. Also, make sure you also are adding magnesium because large amounts of potash can lead to an imbalance and magnesium deficit. Whenever treating either a magnesium deficiency or a potassium deficiency you need to add both minerals or the palm will suffer a deficiency of the one mineral not applied.
