I did not take this shot. It is a reader upload in USATODAY...but it's worthy. This a lenticular cloud at sunset near the southern end of the Sierra Navada mountains in Ridgecrest, Calif.

As we all know, the sun sets in the west...or does it? In Fairbanks Alaska (63 degrees north) the sun appears to set in the east...anyway that is for another thread. Here is a picture taken at sunset by a friend but looking east.

It was almost sunset. Here at 3.5 degrees south of the equator sunsets happen pretty quick. Today was not an a great sunset day. But, there was moment that I captured which gives a feel of the location. A cloud formation seen through some Euterpes and mangos just before sunset,

Bo,

Euterpes have such a great silhouette and put against the end of the day clouds make a good scene. Sunsets happen pretty fast here on the equator, but are still a great part of the day.
