It has 15' of clean trunk. 10" diameter trunk. What's a fair market price for this palm.

In my area it is pretty common to see guys selling palms on the side of the road with a trailer load of sabals, washies, pheonix, ect. I guess these are people who got stuck with a canceled order or something. Anyway, I stopped this summer to see how much one of these guys wanted for the palms. He had sabals about the size you describe for $600 (delivered not planted). He also had a Butia capitata with about 15' of trunk for $1500. That is my only experience with checking the price on palms that size.

I wouldn't pay more than $250.

$100 to 150 for the tree only is pretty common. Usually the installation is more than the tree, giving you an incentive to buy more trees with a reduced installation cost. Some folks will charge for transport as well. You should be able to find someone who will gurantee the tree(s) for that price. You can get a better price if you're buying them in masse.

JD's price may be closer to reality now that things have slowed down.

I have seen them at Houston Palm Tree Co (south of Houston in Webster, TX) for about $300 with 15 feet of clear trunk (w/out delivery or installation). They're a little more expensive here in TX than they are in FL. If any of you guys in the TX/LA area know of a better (cheaper) place to get them, please do share.
