Ok RLR, I see that we are allowed a WHOPPING 100 PMs. Any idea as to how long they will last in this farmat, or is it too early to tell. This is a vast improvement over the other board.

So Dave, you changed from la la ha ha bra Ca? Interesting.  Glad you kept the avatar, though, so all the oldies will know who you are.

I've gotta PM question.  My "sent items" box never has anything in it, no matter how many PM's I've sent.  (The "inbox" is working fine)  Is this intentionaly turned off?  I don't really need it.  If it saves space then I understand?

Matty.

When you compose a new Personal Message, there is the option box

Add a copy of this message to my "Sent Items" folder.

If you want to save a copy of the message, check the box before you send it. That should work, if not let me know.

Thanks Mike.

I don't think so Zac.

I PMed someone last week and got the message "the recipient's mailbox is full." I emailed him the info. He later informed me he saw a red light indicating it was full and deleted some.

So I'm not sure exactly how it works. I think it's based on so many within a given time limit. In any case, I'm sure it's best to clean out what you no longer need.

Zac in NC this is where all your messages are stored. You can read, delete, reply to, and save messages here.

You have 62 total messages in all your folders.

You are allowed an unlimited number of messages.

Zac,

I know it says that. I'm just telling you what happened.

Oh ok. Yeah, maybe I am misreading it. It could mean that I can send as many as I want, but not storage.

Zac,

Got an answer:

IPS Members are getting unlimited messages at this point.

Everyone else is capped at 100.

I do need to put a cap on the messages, but want to give IPS Members more than non-members. How many do you think you need to be happy?

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.

Well, I was happy with 100, lol, obviously when I posted this thread originally. Whatever number as not to slow down the forum too much.

Do old messages 'expire' after a certain period of time?  I went to read some old messages with travel recommendations about Madagascar and Africa and they are gone!  I did not delete them.  They were dated from around December to February.  Aaaargh!
