The path, that led to where the boats were boarded, went through wetlands or "húmedales". We were almost in the "Palo Verde" National Park, so most of the topography near this part of the river consists of marshes and bogs.

It was very interesting to find palms growing there on marshes, with their feet always wet.

Some clumps of Bactris. This species produces fruit that when ripe is eaten by the locals and it is called "uvita" (in english an "uva" is a grape, it is called that way because it resembles a grape). Luis and I had the opportunity to taste one. It is sour in taste and leaves a sensation of astringency.

I would prefer to find the following Bactris more than the ubiquitous Dypsis lutescens, Phoenix roebelenii here in the Costa Rican nurseries.

Take a look at this elegant and beautiful palm:

Thanks Guys for the cool mini-tour. Its like I was back in CR again!

Luis,

Great video. I really liked that. The use of this media is great as it gives more of a feel for a place than an image. I first used this a few days ago on the Peru thread that I made. Now that I know how to do it I will use this in the future. It would be great if more people would do this where ever in the world they are. By the way how do you get the wording before each thumbnail? Nothiing like going out on a river.

Thanks again.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Don,

To put some text before a thumbnail is very easy, here I will explain how:

1. Upload the photo you want. After making that you will receive a success message.

post-632-1219098554_thumb.png

2. From the "Manage Current Attachments" menu you have to select the attachment you want to insert into the text editor and click the icon with the plus sign. Some code will be inserted.

post-632-1219098667_thumb.png

3. Just add some text before the piece of code.

post-632-1219098761_thumb.png

Hope this helps. :)

Regards,

Luis Diego.
