Ok, I don't know where you went or who's garden you're touring, but are all the palms in hydroton? Are they hydroponic palms? Did the owner use any soil?

  • Author

Well I will publish the Broward owners picture but I must get a release first. All I can say is that it is one hell of a Tree garden (pun in there).

Here we are turning the back seat into a cargo hold to move Kingfishes palm once again. (These are well traveled palms!)

Next stop? SUSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

OK. Back in PIE CRUST (Pinecrest LOL) we stop by th ebest sushi in town and try to slow down the pace. That is milky sake (it has the rice leftovers in it unfiltered) I am pouring and the big bottles behind me are some kind of special brew that cost $8.50 a shot. By the time we finish we still have to get Christians cuttings back to his place and I have a gig to get my son to.

The pics are great ,the gardens fantastic, thanks for sharing guys! :)

But the ANT buildup was as I thought, SEGWAY all over again. To much drawn out hype can ruin an otherwise excellent presentation,in my humble opinion. The ANTS would have been COOL if not over sold, but hey that just my take! :winkie:

Thanks Scott.

I was just reading the Cali PS post and thought I would say here that this PRA would not have happened without Palm Talk. This venue has been my favorite thing about the Palm Society in a long time. The people at this PRA met here on line and set the whole thing up with PM's and a few phone calls. This is the trend. I am sure that soon all publications of all affiliates will be on line and that we will save time, money, and effort.

Thanks go out to IPS! This place ROCKS!

PS Sorry about the goofy ANT thimg but there is still a lot of kid left in some of us. (BUBBA?)

Maybe next time you come down from Titus and be a part of it... We'll be more somber and serious when your here ;)

Artsy Fartsy shot.

William,

You miss my point, the ANT thing was funny, to a point, then it just became wearisome. 3 different threads, and over a week of hype before showing us the payoff. The extended build-up did the opposite of it's desired intention to create interest and excitment about the thread. All the ANT words (ie ANTispation ect) were funny and creative. I just think you drew it out way to long and some people lost interest in the thread because of that.

Again just my fuddy duddy 2 cents! Glad you boys enjoyed the day,I enjoyed the pics!

Scott,I know your a good guy so please tell us that you are not a pissANT! OK,no mas. That stated ,however,my Grandfather use to tell me that bored boys in the Summer either leads to novelty or gunplay.I prefer novelty and am happy you enjoyed the Team's pictures and our only hope was to bring a little fun into your day!

What you look for is what is looking

A little pedANTic in the build up, some might say. It was certainly a wANTon breach of the forum rules in places, but the ANTics of you guys, no matter how extravagANT, are fully appreciated, not least by myself. When I saw the ants, I was scANT able to control my excitement, but the magnificence of the location and the palms was not diminished. Most tolerANT of the Moderator too, in light of such errANT behaviour.

CouldANT have said it better myself

Wow just one day of work and I miss a whole page of input! I am usually up or any food, the fish head freaked me out a bit but I ate it.....very tasty. I was up at 6am that day and walked into my apartment around 9pm or so.....only to pass out yet again an hour later. I got a lot of cool cuttings, met some great people via Palmtalk, and hope to do some more in the future.

Len. While true that the guy in the second garden does not conform to the look of the average Marine like you (all big and stocky and all) but when a guy has twice your physique it may not be a good idea to call him ugly? I am still waiting for his permission to post his picture and when I do the rest of you will know why I say this. I am expectANT that I will hear from him soon!

Dave, Are we allowed to say opercula here? We don't want any replies from the ANTidefimation leauge do we?

Scott, You must admit that we gave itthe old school boy try to get some attention to the thread. I hope it will spur interest amongts others to do the same. It cANT hurt.

Christian, Lets try Thai food next time. We can sit around and chANT first? I am somewhat adamANT about this!

The young guy is my son Victor and the old guy has taken him in as an intern of sorts. The crowd loves him and I am excited that this my lead to big things. Can you say Med. School?

It sure was fun to be a participANT in the entire days activities. Thanks to Bob The Ant Farmer, Bubba, and the IPS for this site!!!!!!!!! :mrlooney:

Well, faith and begorrah!

BD and the Es finally showed up to play. (Thought they would-ANT . . . .)

Tottered on down to that roadhouse a time or two -- or three . . . . .

Ah, happy memories!

Nothing beats an avenue of Roystoneas after an evening in the tavern, and some conch chowder and other refreshments.

Hmm. So, what's Victor into, musically?

Yes By God BD&E have made the Redland Tavern their world headquarters! They no longer play at Woodies in the Keys. Victor got to play down there once and got an eye full. It is a strip bar. He loves early rock and BD&E play lots of that, southern rock and blues too. He's learning!

For the rest of the world... Big Dick is a legend and it is quite an honor to play with him. His lead guitarist is also a legend and an award winning blues expert. Please make time to stop in when visiting FTBG as this will be a perfect way to end the day.
