I always thought the yellow was the least appealing, however after seeing one in person I think I have changed my opinion and think this is the best one. It has magnificent big and pendant leaves.

It really depends where in the life cycle you are talking about. The Reds look the best IMO when the plants are young and to me the blues look the best as the plant gets older. I have a red one that is 6 years old and it still has some red in the leaves but, its nowhere near as red as it was 3-4 years ago.

lovely poll ! i have 2 colours at the moment..i.e Red & yellow.yet to collect the blue ones_but its on the cards,soon i will ! since iam a palm collector,i do not differenciate which one looks good...all the 3 should be collected...

I like the verschaffeltii....it doesn't have as stiff leaflets as the other two. I only have a small one right now, but it grows well here at The Flatts.

Latania verschaffeltii is my favorite. There is a nice one at Edison Gardens in Ft. Myers;

Unfortunately the only colour Latania that We can have in the garden in Tasmania is a BROWN one Mind you i haven't tried but would be very surprised if one survived our Loooonng cool season !

I nearly agree. The only diff being that the yellow latan leaves when young adults steal the show for mine. So that makes a reason to have all three.

Based on what I've seen this winter, the yellow form may be the most cold hardy. I would have thought the complete opposite.

I think the blue when mature is quite regal. I have a yellow and blue just starting trunks 2 to 4 feet, and a young red:

I have a 1-2g Blue seedling that might fall into my suitcase on my next trip to GTC. Will it do OK in part shade? Also one of the references I have is that it will have a 15 ft spread. This says to me that I should plant it with 7-8 of space on all sides. I notice many here plant closer for that jungle look. What would be the smallest area I need to give it for future growth? Any other considerations? How much should I worry about lethal yellow?
