I am sitting in a condo in Ft. Walton Beach, FL right now. I was sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine when some folks starting shooting fireworks on the beach. I ran in to grab the camera. This was shot hand held leaning the camera on the balcony and using image stabilization. Kinda cool, I think.

Life IS good. :)

It actually almost looks better in small size than full size.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

That is a cool picture, might make kind of a surrealistic wall hanging. I say get a large print and frame it.

Let me know if you are thinking of coming this way. I know gas prices are so ridiculous that driving anywhere is a major expense now.

David,

It looks as though I will not make it that way. We wound up bringing a couple of nieces with us for the week at the beach. It has thrown a crimp in the logistics of side trips. Good news is I did find the Sylvestris at a local big box. Price is pretty good. Another local big box was selling 12 foot trunk Washies for $134.99. Insane.

Yes.....I understand.

I usually go to Lowes and Lowe-ball them :) on stuff like that. You would be supprised at the wheeling and dealing that can happen if you talk to the nursery manager or someone who can make decisions on price. Many times if something hasn't moved for a month, they will give you half off or better....especially if it is starting to get brown. Home Depot just lets them die.
