Your bear is loaded for bear!

I've got one with a couple of rings of trunk, and everyone who comes to visit is encouraged to cop a feel on the fuzz.

Little kids love it!  (So do big ones . . .. )

D. leptocheilos canopy

And this is an interesting palm. I bought it as a D. leptocheilos a.k.a. Teddy Bear. It has the typical Teddy Bear crown with the lower fronds more or less horizontal and it is just as fast as a Teddy Bear, but it has the much sturdier trunk of a D. lastelliena a.k.a. Red Neck. I think it's a hybrid between the two, so I'm calling it the "Red Bear" ("Teddy Neck" didn't sound nearly as good!).
