Rain during the dry season

We had a small sprinkle last week. Not enough to wet leaves.Last night we got almost four inches! This is unheard of on the coast.I have been here twenty years and it has never rained a drop in February. This would be like Miami getting a foot of snow in April.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

Scott, I posted about the rains during the dry season and then I saw your post!

So you're getting them too, huh?  One of my friends has lived here for more than 30 years and said he doesn't EVER remember flights being cancelled in February because of bad weather.  He seemed quite shocked.
