I know this is on the palm pages but I hope the board admin can permit it for a few days before shunting it across.

The European Palm Society forum has risen from the spammers ashes. Its now free to join and free from spammer fi*th and seems to be thriving with some very knowledgeable people.

Its mostly about cold hardy palms that will grow in europe so its a bit different from here, but for cold hardy palm freaks its a great place.

Here is the link , all cold hardy palmnuts welcome .....

Hi Nigel,

Sorry to be negative.  Don't know if you even have any control of this but, I think the forum would get more exposure if it didn't require a login to read.  Typically, people find forums through search engines, searching for a particular topic (that is how I found IPS, looking for Parajubaea info).  If the forum is closed to read, your interesting threads will never be indexed.

I know I was too lazy to login, just to look around.  Always good to have more info on the more unique and exotic species of common cold hardy palms.

Congratulations though on cleaning up the spammers.  It is a never ending, thankless job.  I managed some email lists in the past and the spammers attemts to gain access was constant.

Nigel,

Site looks like it already has lots of great and informative discussions.  Should be very relative to North Florida and the southeast USA.

Thanks for the announcement.

I'm with Iwan on this. If I can't read the forum to see if its worthwhile, I'm not gonna give any information just to find out. That's pretty much standard fare across the web.

The last forum was wiped out by spam filth. Thousands of disgusting spams every day.

The EPS can not and will not allow that to happen again.
