Okay, besides the ever reliable and necessary spade and/or shovel, what garden tool do you rely on, what can't you garden without, be it a personal special item or whatever.

I'll take the simple answer here first.  The garden tool I use next to a shovel or spade, is the one I am typing on right now.

My fav has three steel prongs on the end of a normal length handle (rake etc.), the prongs are curved so you can use it as a manual plough for turning and raking over/through soil and digging in compost into soul and I also use it to pull down dying leaves from the taller palms. Haven't a clue what it's called but I just can't do without it.

That looks like a cross-between a grape hoe and a trench digger.

Everyone, you've provided inspiration.

I haven't used my pole saw in a while, but I took down a large washie with it, and a large Brazilan pepper tree.  The weight brings everything down.

Swamp Thing is a spray. We bought it when we were in the Keys on a canoe safari in the mangrove swamp. It even repels the biting flies. But its probably toxic. It smells toxic.

Gina, yeah I figured it's probably toxic, but if I grow another eye or arm, they would both be useful. Thanks.

Another life saver for me, having a larger piece of property is my 4-wheeler.  You would not believe all of the things one can accomplish with a little inginuity and a 4-wheeler.  Only thing that would be better would be a tractor, but that will have to come a few years from now.
