Thanks Kris for your update (after 6 years) of your Psedophoenix ekmanii to show us how nice your palm looks growing in container. Whatever you have done seems to work well for you. I too, am happy to be growing this unique palm. I have one in ground that is about 1.3 meters (4ft.) tall and another in a one-gallon-size container of which the newest leaf is 3.5cm (14 inches) long. Here are several pics to show them:
