This one seems to be a Burretokentia to me. Vendor wasn't knowing anything about palms and said me there is a new red leaf like Chambey for this one. the location from where it comes from is defintely not the same as dumasii or koghiensis. so i'm thinking it can be a standard vieillardii with no new red leaf.

OK, thats it, I think I'm moving to New Caledonia, heck with this Hawaii hype!

Awesome collection, my friend!

Mat,

Those are all beautiful palms, and very well grown! I'm looking forward to photos of them in habitat! :)

And Bill,

Before you make any drastic decisions about your next residence I want you to know that on a number of occasions we've had visitors here from New Caledonia (most recently Jean and Chantal Pierson - after whom K. piersoniorum was named - in June this year), and they're all amazed that the New Caledonia palms seem to grow better here than in New Caledonia...! (No offense to NC!).

Ahhh, but Bo, if you CAN'T GET them, it doesn't matter how well they would grow "if" they were there!

Bill,

You obviously have not seen the New Caledonia palms in the ground at Floribunda Palms. And many of them are seeding! :)

Nice stuff Mat.

I bet Moratia cerifera is so common in NC that you can pick seed off this tree right off the side of the road. :)

I did say Mike not Mat. Mike (newcal) is one of the Gold Coast members of the Aussie ratpack and has an extensive New Caledonian collection, at least for what is available to us. I on the other hand have next to no NC palms. Let's see I have two Chambeyronias, one Basselinia gracilis and one Veillonia alba.
