Queen Palm Tree Roots

Recommended Posts

Jim in Los Altos

Photos won’t load for me so I can’t actually see your palm. I’ll try and answer anyway. No roots should be exposed at all. Queen palms are pretty tolerant to soil piled even several inches up their trunks. Many palms would not tolerate that.

jim is correct.  queen palms love moisture and it seems the more you pile mulch or soil, the more advantageous roots start to develop and split out from the base of the trunk.  itll just get fatter and fatter.   at least from my experience.
