A great example of a rarely seen form of electricity in the skies above.. Credits to veteran storm chaser/ film maker Mike Olbinski.

Wow! Very interesting. Many strange lightning varieties and stories.

Another that is interesting and odd is the phenomenon referred to as “ball lightning”. Particularly in aircraft. Lightning hit a plane and shortly thereafter a ball of lightning slowly bounced straight down the main aisle as passengers watched transfixed. Bounced from the front of the plane and excited through the plane’s tail. Insane!

I've never experienced St. Elmo's fire, but I've seen ball lightning a few times, once inside my house.
