Thanks for sharing; your threads are a must see - no matter how busy I am.

The C. renda has to be the winner. I can only imagine how it's going to look later with the red trunk and variegation.

I don't think I have seen a variegated palm in real life before. Are they rare? With those that have to be propagated by seed do you just have to wait for a variegated one to turn up as variagated individuals can't be propagated true to type?

WOW!

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

Hi Komkrit,

Those are beauties.  The only problem with most veriegated palms is that they they burn eaisly in full sun.  The nicest ones I've seen are growing in shade, or mostly part shade.  I suppose high humidity and cloud cover would make a difference.  I struggle with my veriegated Rhapis in my dry summer heat.  Your Nanzan is nice.  I have a nice one and its one of my most prized palms. It will be brought inside this summer for our summer heat waves.

That above Rhapis I get it with many burn spot while I see them grown in very hot weather in Thailand. I have to takes long time to recover. Now I place them in shade and most moist place as I can. Can you possible to post your one's pictures?

Komkrit....Most of my stuff got whacked in the freeze. Nothing dead, but most aren't photo worthy.

I have a variegated Dypsis Baronii that spent the winter in a friends greenhouse...thank God.
