I went on a group tour last week of the landscape at Sea World's Aquatica. This is a water park Sea World opened last year.

Nice palms Eric. I'm glad to see more Archontophoenix palms being planted. Central FL was severely lacking in them.

The Pandanus look great! Thanks for photos.

Eric,

Thanks for sharing. I love the varieties growing there. Is that Chamaedorea cataractarum growing in full sun?

Nice shots Eric... that grouping of foxtail palms was interesting! It reminded me of the thread regarding palms leaning away from each other when planted in groups... clearly foxtails do. Jv

Eric,

Thanks for posting these photos. Great shots of all the palms! I love the Pandanus. I am hoping to dig a large one up when it gets cooler and plant it in my garden.

No coconuts there but they have a bunch planted at Sea Worlds' other park Discovery Cove. I was told they try to use some "signature" plants different at each park. I guess since they used lots of coconuts at DC they left them out of Aquatica. But they used royals at Aquatica and I didn't see any at DC.

At Aquatic, the signature plants seemed to be;

Archontophoenix alexandrae

A. cunninghamaiana

Arenga engleri

Araucaria columnaris- Cook Pine (mistakenly called A. heterophylla, Norfolk Island Pine)

Dendrocalamus minor 'Amoenus'- Angel Mist Bamboo

Eucalyptus deglupta- Rainbow Gum

Pandanus utilis- Screw-Pine

Phoenix hybrids

Roystonea regia- Royal Palm

Talipariti tilaceaus 'Tricolor'- Mahoe (Hibiscus)

At Discover Cove they were;

Bambusa oldhamii

Bismarckia nobilis

Caryota obtusa

Clusia rosea

Coccoloba uvifera- Seagrape

Cocos nucifera- Coconut Palm

Ravenala madagascariensis- Traveler's Tree

Syagrus romanzoffiana- Queen Palm

Here are some at DC
