A very congested 2 gallon pot was the subject of my attention yesterday. All that's needed was a pruning saw and a little brute force. I potted 5 plants from this.

 Nice! Did you grow them from spores?

Mild oceanic climate, with coastal exposure.

 

Summer: 12°C (53°F) average min, to 21°C (70°F) average daily max. Up to 40°C (104°F max) rarely.

 

Winter: 6°C (43°F) average min, to 13°C (55°F) average daily max. Down to 0°C (32°F) occasionally, some light frost.

Very nice. Worthy of visiting some day.

I acquired these last year from my step daughter, who owns a garden center here. I'm unlikely live long enough to see any of these grow to those proportions.

They are the one of biggest weeds I get in my nursery, with spore coming from the ones in my garden, you will have great success with your new ferns they are super tough! They are great for creating a canopy in those tough rocky places, if you can add a bit of water to get them going, once established just an occasional watering keeps them happy along with a bit of rain.
