Oh yeah. The consensus on YouTube seemed to say that the damp paper towels in a baggie were the way to go. Well, I had some leftover seeds after I used all the paper towels I brought with me.

Paper towels have done nothing so far. But but but but but but but!!!!

Congratulations. Papayas have pretty sensitive roots. I like to start them in some sort of soil/media like you have done, rather than using paper towels.

My Waimanalo just showed up today too. I think I'll do this again only with a bigger container since I want to keep all of them. Now to see if I can find a huge baggie.

2.5 gallon Ziploc on Amazon. Anyway here's another YouTube.

I'm in a foul mood, like always there's some sailor talk.

papaya are like the easiest seeds ever to sprout. There’s no best method tbh I always just toss them in dirt and keep them wet, they sprout very quickly doing that when it’s hot. They sprout from the compost all the time.

Holy Lord Jesus I am gonna have to give some of these things away. There's also another community pot plus the deli tray featured in my YouTube channel, which I personally think is very entertaining. Plus 3 solo cups. I uhhh

I might have overdone it. And I still have the tropical papaya seeds I want to sprout. @WaianaeCrider were the ones you were telling me about by any chance the dwarf Waimanalo or Solo variety? I've got a couple dozen of those soaking and waiting on perlite to show up.

Best I can tell from the googlator, Kahuku is a brand. I'll see how it goes with these seeds and I guess we'll go from there.

So for a crap ton of 1g pots for papaya, pushing all of my bananas into 5g buckets, some palm sprout upsproutings, hopefully some community pots, hopefully some banana seeds, some more repotting, some canna, I'm ballparking about 165 gallons of coir and perlite lol.

Jesus Christ that's a lot. But let's get at it. Let's hope someone wants papayas.

@WaianaeCrider is sending some seeds of his favorite papaya so I'll have 3 varieties going.

I was at Lowes buying plywood and told them I was reinforcing a grow table for stuff they tell you that you can't grow here and let's just say they got the wrong impression and thought I meant an entirely different variety of plants.
