We've got a bunch of these on our property. My grandmother loved them, and they're massive now and starting to bloom. I can take some pics tomorrow.

I forgot to take pictures today, but the ones in more sun are blooming like crazy. They're pink fwiw. I really need to get out there with a chainsaw and trim some down, they're kind of haggard looking but I can't bring myself to cut a branch full of flowers. I dunno if my granny did this on purpose, or if it was the squirrels - but there's so many with oaks growing in the middle of them. On one hand, it's kinda cool to see, and on the other hand it looks kinda sloppy but there's nothing I can do about it now. I have no idea when she planted them, but she passed in 2008 and she had dementia for a few years before that so probably the 1990s. The trees are HUGE and well over the roof of the house, never seen any cold protection at all.

Here you go @PAPalmtrees - they're freaking huge, they're well over the roof of the house. I dunno how many there are, I didn't count - but these are the ones against the house blooming.

Welp, this morning I learned that for every foot of canopy their roots spread 4 feet out and I also learned they can be propegated by cuttings. I've literally trimmed 15 foot branches off some of these, and I'm having to dig deep enough to get my pruners in to trim roots for this flowerbed.

i like the photos, Bodie.
yes, it's really more difficult to take photos from inside a car or bus. i wanted to take some yesterday, but the local bus driver drove like he was doped up and the passengers had to be happy to arrive safely afterwards, although the advertisements always say you should change to public transport ...
since the wife had to leave, i had the choice between bus or bike.

Thanks. Yeah I agree it's really hard to take pictures well in the car.
