This caterpillar is around 12mm long and 1mm wide, found 6 of these wrapped in silk in the fronds of my Cyathea. They also appear to be the same caterpillar that hangs down from trees on silk strings. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Tough call but could be one of the Leaf Roller Moths ( ..a few different Genus ) ...Don't think they feed on Tree Fern foliage but, i'd probably collect and feed em' to the lizards if found on them anyways..

Remember these " danglers " quite well..  Place i worked at in Clearwater had lots of Oaks on the property ( Water  / Laurel ) which = an army of tiny caterpillars -right about now- hanging just high enough from the trees that they'd end up on your face ..and were hard to avoid while working around the nursery..

They don’t seem to feed on tree ferns but they cover the fronds with silk.

Makes sense.. They'd build their little silk hide-aways on just about anything they landed on at the nursery, and outside my apartment..
