Does anyone have any experience growing dracaena spike plants? I got a few for $10 each and I decided to plant them on the south side of my house. I’ve found several sources from sellers stating 7a hardy but I’ve also seen 9a so I’m guessing it depends on the type. I was curious if anyone has grown these in 8A and how they handle winter? If they die no big loss as I don’t plan to protect them. I put pictures of them below.

In my experience they are marginally 9b possibly 9a hardy , depending on where you plant them. I wouldn’t expect much, and 7b is probably a lie those things would get melted.

If you want a more suitable plant that has a similar look consider yuccas. Not as colorful but way hardier.
