Ficus villosa a strange ficus variety, when one thinks of ficus you first think of some huge tree like Benjamina, I had never seen one like this until the day I did see it so I had to have it. It seems cool tolerant for such a strange looking plant having survived two winters in the greenhouse, not sure if it will get planted in the ground I have a sneaky suspicion it may take over and end being a triffid absolutely destroying everything in its path.

Very nice looking little guy...for now!

South Arm, Tasmania, Australia - 42° South

Mild oceanic climate, with coastal exposure.

 

Summer: 12°C (53°F) average min, to 21°C (70°F) average daily max. Up to 40°C (104°F max) rarely.

 

Winter: 6°C (43°F) average min, to 13°C (55°F) average daily max. Down to 0°C (32°F) occasionally, some light frost.
