A bit of luck with Tacca chanteri aka bat plant

Featured Replies

My bay plant produces a few seeds in my climate. So I thought I put some in and see what happened, well it happened it took about one year to germinate and are slow even after that. I have a friend who has one on the coast yet it never sets seeds not sure why but my one does. Perhaps insect activity or temperature plays a big role in it. One of the things I also like about plants is not only there beauty but the challenges of breeding and propagation of them either from hand pollination or letting Mother Nature do her work or from various methods of plant propagation, I find a challenge to learn about a certain plant does like being propagated from seed or cuttings or whatever technique is required it keeps the gardener in me happy I guess that’s why iam happypalms.
