@DTS I have bought several Heliconia rhizomes from eBay or Etsy sellers, there's a couple in Puerto Rico that carry a lot of different varieties.  I think TropicalHeliconias was one of them.

Would the one from Plant Delights be worth it?

I have bought a bunch of agaves, mangaves, and a couple of ficus from Plant Delights.  They have all been accurate to species, if a bit small for the cost of the plant and shipping.  I'd imagine that the Schiedeana is accurate too.  I've been thinking about getting that heliconia too, but I've been too busy with other areas of the yard to think about new Heliconia.  :D

Check Aloha Tropicals, JG's Tropical Plants ( Specializes in Gingers / Helconias ) ..and Plant Group Hawaii ( very extensive list of Gingers  Heliconia )

Probably some places in CA as well.
