I want to plant a couple of these up against the north side of my house.  In the summer, they'd get full sun in the afternoon.

Do they get a big trunk or rhizome that would push up against the foundation and can they take full tropical sun?

I can't speak directly to the sun question you have but suspect they will appreciate some filtered light in hot afternoon exposure.

I have kept my one and only specimen in pots it's entire life.  It has popped vigorously.  I would expect the pups would grow where they have space away from the house.  You can always remove the pups on the house side.  Perhaps others will share more of their experiences.

@ahosey01 The Zamia furfuracea in at the Starbucks in Bartow are in full sun, so it's doable.
