Hello,

Do any of you have any experience with Jasminum polyanthum regarding winter hardiness? How much can it withstand and how does it react to long-term frost?

I'm thinking about planting mine out, I've had Jasminum officinalis and Trachelospermum jasminoides successfully for 6 years. The winter so far has had -5°C as the lowest temperature and 3 days without being above zero.

Opinions?

Regards, Urkern

It grows well in London and can be seen quite often in private gardens and balconies. Because flower buds develop during winter, they can easily get damaged. Most winters they'll go through without a hassle and put on a show by May, approx., but I have seen some plants burn to the base after some days of snow and prolonged cold periods to grow back again in spring. Hope this helps.

Yeah, this helps a lot. Although nearly same latitude, our winters here a bit harsher but directly on the wall, i will try.

Thank you for your experiences iko.
