Where to buy Sabal Palmettos online

Featured Replies

Hello Palmtalk. I’m looking for a good place to buy palmettos online that will ship up here to the north for next spring. I am looking for something larger than a seedling but around 1-5 gallons range. Preferably cheap, less than $200. If a larger one can be found for cheaper than I am happy to have one of those too. As always, any help is well appreciated.

Check the palms for sale section here on the forum. @Sabal King has stuff right now, he's a regular here and good prices on good cold hardy palms.

I do have Sabal Palmetto seeds from Bald Head Island that have just germinated.

I know it’s nowhere near the size you want but I’m just letting you know it’s an option if you prefer the Bald Head Island variety.

Mail Order Natives has them I believe

You can find a few on eBay.... prices are decent.

3 to 5 gallon will resemble a sabal minor.

Are you sure that they are from the native palms and not the imported palms from Florida ?

Thanks

I picked the seeds myself when I was there on vacation in early October. Unfortunately, I only came across two palmettos in natural areas with a handful of ripe seeds from this year and a few from last year. I was there too early.

In the spring, I’ll probably post them up with pictures of the parent trees if they’ve grown enough.

Jungle music usually keeps a bunch of sabals for sale. Best to email and see what they have in stock, sometimes the list isn’t exactly up to date.https://www.junglemusic.net/search/palmprices.aspx

I took a peek at jungle music prices and find them rather steep....just my opinion.

Thanks for the tag.. Indeed we have quite a few palms ready to ship.  Feel free to inquire within as our inventory is up on the for sale post we have up.
