One true coastal species is the pandanus tectorius the iconic coastal feature plant reminiscent of the tropical coconut for southern locations and northern as well it wouldn’t be a day at the beach without a pandanus that’s for sure

I've got one that's been struggling along through our dry season but picking up again during the wet. It's not happy, though, with the cycle of extremes. Just recently I extended some irrigation to it so hopefully that will 'cheer' it up.

I don’t know much about pandanus only they are tough and the seeds can be tricky to germinate but every one is different at germinating different plants I do know that the burn quite well I removed a row of them along my back boundary border with the state forest for fire safety with sprinklers on my roof I know I live in a fire zone that’s for sure
