This interesting plant has spines and a red stripe down each leaf.

It was a gift but the giver does not know the name. 

It remains in a pot pending more information.

I recall seeing the name in one of my books, but alas can not find it now.

I promise I will use my nice stainless steel garden markers and weatherproof labels if someone can identify it please.

Could be Barleria Lupulina, not sure though.
