Whenever possible I prefer to use natural insecticides.  Having these little guys running around the garden is one of the best!  In this case it is concentrating on defending my Encephalartos arenarius, waiting patiently for it to flush, then eat any bugs attacking the flush.  Well that's my human interpretation at least.  My friends in Hawaii have their geckos, here in Southern California we have our lizards, what do you have? Birds, frogs or toads maybe?

Lizards, lizards, THOUSANDS of lizards.  :D  The small birds around here are particularly effective at eating the local spiders, and occasionally nab the lizards too.  There are a couple of black racer snakes too, and occasionally bigger predators like black bears and coyotes.  But the bears just go after trash cans and the coyotes just eat neighborhood cats.  😮
