Growing in nearby Cheseboro Canyon.  I was followed around by a nice doggie for part of the hike

Beautiful with the contrast against the lush hillside grasses. Every thing is so green right now with all the rain. 

Nice little canine, maybe some friends were traveling with it that you didn't see.

Here is one in the rich, alluvial soil adjacent to the Sacramento river.  It is about 7 feet in diameter, and 200-300 years old.

The orchard in the background is English walnut.
