Stanhopea Tigrina orchid in flower 🤩

Featured Replies

 Hi ALL,

Happy New Year.

The Scent of Stanhopea orchids scent range from WOW to Oh Yeh. Stanhopea  Tigrina has a V stunning scent

This shows 2 flowers of at least on 10 that push their flowers down through the bottom of the pot. Ea flower is 6" wide and the smell is adorable to say the least.

The pot I like to use is a 300mm wide very open wire 1 with fiber that the flowers can push through and hold the mix. Its due to be repotted into a 400mm wire basket.

VERY easy Orchid to grow under 50% shade cloth and continually moist in a very well drained mix, hates to be too wet as the bulbs WILL rot.

Stanhopea nigroviolacea and Tigriga are recognized as the same species. Sellers using the name WILL fetch a higher price to "newcomers" to the Orchid World.

I like the name Tigrina as my eldest son's name is Tiger.  I must add that the most expensive Stanhopea's I've bought have the most boring appeal and least smell. 💯👌

Enjoy the pic of the very spectacular Stanhopea tigrina flower and this Sp IS a very fast spreader.

Pete. ps I'm able to post a pic as Tiger like MOST folk own an iPhone.  Life IS much FREER with NO Mobile.
