I have a contender for largest Kapok in front of the Harvey Government Center in Key West. Although the buttresses are not as pronounced as the west palm beach tree, the trunk thickness and crown height is certainly greater. Notable is a gigantic ~8’ wide burl lumped above a branch in this specimen.
