Peter an interesting hybrid.... I'm guessing that x Barbara is Aloidendron barberae, but correct me if I'm wrong.  How old is this plant and how long to get to this size from what size did you get it?  A giant and a mini for parents.

I got this plant about 3 years ago, it was a rooted cutting from my friend who made the original cross, and it was a good sized 5g plant.  My friend's parent plant is a big beefy plant that must be about 15' at least with a very stout trunk and lots of branching-quite heavy so I'm sure I'll have to thin it out somewhat as it grows.  Growth rate was slow at first but has been picking up speed-i try not to water too much as that's the trick with Hercules to keep it somewhat under control

If possible,  share a photo of the parent plant when you can.  Did it show the hybrid vigor in getting to the 15' that other hybrid Aloe and Aloidendron exhibit?  What color flower does the parent plant have?

Shot in the dark but when you trim the large plant, will any of these cuttings be viable for repotting and/or for sale @Peter?

The first few have been spoken for already, although it's a year or two down the road I think before I thin it out.   After that, it's certainly possible I will sell/trade the extras.

Is that the reverse cross of aloe "samson" (barbarea x ramosissima)?
