I planted two dombeya wallichii, one tabernaemontana coronaria plena; and 5 pygmy date palms; and three yucca (colorguard) a fourth one is on the way. I'm thinking about incorporating a lemongrass , and miringa (did I spell miringa correctly?) Wil these plants not only survive; but will they thrive in my yard here in Casa Grande AZ? I think I'm even in zone 8b, or 9a-9b I'm guessing zone 9a-9b I'm on or near the boarder of Coolidge; and I'm curious if the aforementioned plants will be okay. I've started planting in the ground about mid February, up until yesterday evening with he other Dombeya wallichii. Any help and advice will greatly be appreciated; and I'll keep y'all updated with the results. Thanks a bunch.

Here's the Plant maps 2012 data for Casa Grande/ Florence / Coolidge areas..

Would bet it is slightly warmer overall now down there ( certainly is here, compared to 2021 data ).. but, still can get cold every so often.. No doubt as everything down there gets built out, it will continue to get a bit warmer in the future.. Anyway.

Passing through that entire area pretty often, If i were planting something " leafy " like Dombeya ( or Tabernaemontana ) here, it would go where it is protected from sun after 11am.. Highly doubt either will tolerate our heat + full sun w/ out burning badly, even if provided regular water.

Moringa will tolerate our sun fine once bigger.. just not sure how they'll take those colder winters down your way. That said, think they survive in Tucson, ..with some damage though.  A couple neighbors have massive sized ones in their yard here in Chandler that are always full of seedpods..

Lemongrass should be fine, esp. w/ some afternoon shade, and extra moisture ..at least until Monsoon season starts ( when it will really take off / look it's best ).

Thanks for that, and I'll study this map a bit. I think my pygmy date palms will be okay?!? I've seen some in downtown Casa Grande, but no heat island effect there, but some plants (pygmy date palms too) I've seen growing when I lived in Phoenix/Glendale; those very same plants seem to be doing pretty well here from what I can tell. Just haven't noticed any Dombeyas, or Tabernaemontanas here though. I see date palms such as the taller ones that may flower and fruit growing well here. I have one, but I have it in an 181/2" pot as of a year now. Just trying to figure out where on my property to put it. I also have some color guard yuccas in the ground.  More to come, and thanks.
