Bought this beauty for 25usd more or less. never knew what species it was. I pulled up google lens and the 1st result was San Pedro cactus. Anyone can confirm or debunk?

Pachycereus marginatus, Mexican Fence Post..  Not even in the same Ballpark as a San Pedro.  Wayy different  Cactus.

Well that was Google Lens so i should complain to them haha. Was never told it was San Pedro, I never knew what it was untill i decided to try the app out.

lol, I saw that and edited the reply..  Regardless, Mex. fence post is a great cacti. That one should start branching ( typically from the bottom ) pretty soon. Mine is a quarter that size and has 3 stems -so far.

Yeah it looks great! does it send up pups underground?

Nah, they'll form on the sides of the first stem, right at ground level.   If it puts on too many stems ( would take time to do so ) easy to cut them off / re-plant somewhere else. One of the few Cacti you don't have to worry about getting jabbed by spines.

The Pachycereus has a much more dynamic look but very insignificant flowers. The Echinopsis doesn't rate a second glance but it's flowers are incredible. Either way you can't lose.
