Brownea macrophylla, has a huge orange flower.  Its flower starts out as an acorn looking thing about 2 inches long.  It is a small, rangy type tree with "handkerchief" new foliage.

Enjoyed the photos!! Thanks!

As I plan to visit the area soon, I now hope to combine a Deerfield beach and arboretum morning.

Is it fully open yet? Work has been going on for sometime now.

Cindy,

Give me a shout when you come.  I would be delighted to give you a tour.

V-Cycle,

It is fully open now.  We are having a bit of electrical trouble on one of the waterfall pumps but still worth while.
