I've been thinking of adding "Jesse Durko" bamboo to my garden, but I can't seem to find any reliable hardiness observations on it.  In the NW Orlando area I'm a borderline 9b/9a zone and usually see one or two nights in the upper 20s each winter.  Bambusa Lako was the only bamboo that showed any stress this winter, losing about 1/2 of its leaves at 28F and 30F frosts.  It bounced back fine by February and looks normal now.  Tropical Bamboo lists "Jesse Durko" now as a form of Bambusa Suberecta, and say that it's a 20-25' tall 1" culm for minimum zone 9B.  I tried asking TB via email, but got a bounceback "undeliverable" message from their info@tropicalbamboo.com address, "The group info only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list."

Does anyone have experience with "Jesse Durko" with freezes or frosts?  I'd be okay if it took some frost burn in the upper 20s, but would be really disappointed to put it in a prime viewing spot and have it burn to the ground at 27-28F.

No experience with it but when looking for smaller bamboo, I came across this one and seem to recall it’s a 9b+ so I guess it could take 30 but below that hard to say.
