Has anyone from the Tampa area visited this nursery in Pinellas? I must be living under a rock. I had never heard of it until yesterday. Worth visiting?

I'm glad you posted that - I'd forgotten all about them.

If they're anything like what they had been a few years back, then yes, worth a visit.

Hm, I think I got my spindle there.  And first time I saw a pandanus in Pinellas was at Sunscape.  (I got ours down at Driftwood in Naples, though.)

Bren, have you been to Jene's on Central?  She gets some interesting palms - so does her mom over on 1st.

Guess I'll take a little trip over there! Yeah Sunny, I've been to both places. I've gotten a number of plants from both! I do think Jene's is overpriced. They are asking  $70 for a 3 gal montgomery palm palm proporting that it's a rarity. These are common box store palms now. Both places are very close to my work and I zip over there occasionally and browse.

No price list on that site, that makes me wary usually, don't know why, just does.

Jene will deal a bit sometimes, have gotten a few things at a 'good' price.

They dug up my coworkers 50 foot tall Royal palm.  The main nursery is on Hillsborough Ave near Oldsmar.

OK, yesterday I hit Jene's for the tropical fruit fest then visited sunscape. Jene's was really crowded. I didn't see anything that really stood out at me. She had a nice large licuala grandis but I wasn't going to pay what she wanted. It was so busy, I couldn't even get anyone's attention. I'll have to stop back to try and haggle next week. She has a large rainbow shower tree in full bloom right now. Spectacular! Anyone in the area go check it out!

Sunscape was a very nice nursery. Very very clean and well laid out. They had a nice selection of crotons as well as LOTS-O palms. I saw the roosevelt's & stoplights there in quantity. They must be the new petra...speaking of petra, I picked this one up. I know it's a simpleton but I wanted some large specimans on the side yard that can take full sun. I'll be going back there soon!
