Nice!  When does it usually bloom?  Assuming normal winter.

Don’t know this is my first year with the plant. Went in the ground last summer.

I got this plant in 2008. Didn’t survive the 10 or 11 winters in my 9a

Kailua, Oahu HI. Near the beach but dry!

Still have a garden in Zone 9a Inland North Central Florida (Ocala)

I'm probably gonns put some in a big pot for back up if I lose the clump in a freeze. I may even pot it all up like I do my other heliconias because the foliage doesnt look that great in my climate.

I just went to Mercer Botanical Garden to pick up some plants and saw that these were blooming like crazy there. Didn't take any pictures, unfortunately.

Have really liked Heliconia ..and most Gingers for years.. Especially since family members in Hawaii would bring / send flowers to relatives in California.  Both my grandma and one aunt had the tall Kahili Ginger growing in their yards, even though they're both allergic to the flowers, lol..

There's a guy there who used to sell all sorts of Heliconia varieties/ various other Gingers at all the plant sales i'd attend across Sarasota and the Tampa Bay Area.. Pretty sure he attends others across the state as well. Not sure if he has an online store though. Always had some pretty cool stuff.
