I purchased a plant some time ago and IDed it as euphobia enterophora and today purchasd another by the name e. alcicornis.
I can see no visual difference between them.

EuphorbiaAlcicornis.jpg.98e7eba37c14183d532c2c077e208ffe.jpg

IUCN lists e. enterophora as accepted and Least Concern while it lists e. alcicornis as accepted and Critically Endangered.
I've checked Cat of Life, Kews, IUCN, SANBI, as well as others and find that they are treated as separate plants, but how can I determine what I have as photos of either plant looks exactly like the other...

Thanks

Hi 75˚, Lo 39˚

They seem to agree that

Euphorbia xylophylloides is a synonym for Euphorbia enterophora Drake subsp. enterophora=Euphorbia enterophora Drake (1899)

and that

Euphorbia xylophylloides subsp. crassa (Cremers) S. Carteris a synonym for Euphorbia enterophora subsp. crassa Cremer

and that e. alcicornis is a separate and unique species from e. enterophora, which I also concluded based upon the Kews and Cat of Life enttries, Hoewever I see no mention of a way of differentiating between the two???

The photos show e.. alcicornis  flowers but no photo of  e. enterophora, flowers to compare against

Am I reading it  wrong? Mi Italian is not very good, I do French, English and Spanish

Thanks

Hi 75˚, Lo 39˚

through the Euphorbia Planetary Biodiversity Inventory project I have

arrowed it down to 2 accepted names with lots of synonyms.
euphorbia ramipressa for e. alcicornis
and e. xylophylloides for e. enterophora

That narrows down the search a bit.

Thanks

Richard
