Hello Group,

Dry your crying eyes!  Though Cycad Day at the Huntington has just sold out, here is an equally entertaining opportunity for a botanically-fascintating Saturday, June 16...at Lotusland in Santa Barbara!  Don Hodel, noted palm authority, will be visiting Lotusland and making a presentation on...palm trees (large group of derived monocotyledonous angiosperms superficially evocative of and splendid examples of convergent evolution with cycads).  The program begins in the afternoon and will feature not only a riveting talk and garden tour but wine, cheese, etc. etc.  Please check out  http://www.lotusland.org/events.html for more information and reservations.
