I’m looking for livistona Fulva. At this stage I would buy just about any size and even seeds. Thanks for any help.

Stevetoad: Unless you have a contact in Australia willing to ship seeds, that Livistona species may be a challenge to locate here in the U.S. from commercial sources, but perhaps a private grower here might be willing to sell one or two to you? I raised mine from seed I got years ago via RPS. They're several years old, but still without the characteristic rust coloring on the underside of the fronds. They handle heat and full sun well, at least in my experience. Good luck!

I hoping a private party has some. They used to be a more common livistona in so cal but then disappeared (at least from what sources tell me). I had one that grew up into  a l. Austalis and a second one that got hit by a gopher.

Steve, check with Jason Dewees of Flora Grubb.  I know that's not local to you, but I have got a few of these from him and he may be able to point you to a source.

Ben: Good advice. And if you're so inclined, would love to see a picture or two of the L. fulva specimens in your garden. ;)

Not much to look at, at this stage!  Put them in as 5gs and they have not grown much.

Ben: Thanks for the update. I kept one in a pot and the other I planted out in the heat of last summer, which seemed to set it back quite a bit. Perhaps with a mild winter in NorCal we can expect them to really develop this spring, summer and fall. At least I'm hoping that'll be the case! :hmm:

Steve, the growing grounds of Jason's employer, the Flora Grubb group, is located in Rainbow, just near Fallbrook.  This should be an easy half day PRA from anywhere in SD county.

I don't think Rainbow is organized for retail.  You should discuss this with Jason first.  :)
