Fruiting Banana In Richmond VA

Here is a banana with fruit on it at the Richmond Metro Zoo. I took this picture two weeks ago, so far no frost, so now they are probably more developed.

Also there were some Bald Cypress scattered around the area, here is a big one in a wet ditch. I do see Bald Cypress growing naturally around here, but this has to be about as far inland as they grow, at least from what I have seen and the USDA plant Database. Although I am not sure wether this one was planted at one time or not, I do see them growing around swampy areas here every once and a while.
